Today is another saint's day often celebrated in Europe, St Lucia. She is most often celebrated in Scandanavia where she was from, with candles and cake ! Today we will have a class in school wandering around with candles, giving out treats to the other children. They visit unexpectedly singing and remembering Lucia's kindness to the poor after she was forbidden to help by her husband.
It is a good time to remember that in this season of plenty and joy there are so many with so little and there is always something we can spare.
