MasterShoestring had 2 friends over last night to go bowling. I said that I would pay for 1 game of bowling for the three of them but after that it was up to him. He opted to come home to eat pizza, chips, salad and rhubarb crumble rather than pay for food at the bowling alley which would have cost him close to £20.
I made 4 homemade pizzas, one with a goat's cheese topping, one with an ordinary cheese topping, one with meat and one just with vegetables. The ingredients were just the same as for a loaf of bread plus the toppings. The bases cost around £1 for 4 or 25p each, the tomato sauce was 10p for each pizza and the toppings would have been around 25-40p each, with the meat being the most expensive. So the most expensive pizza cost 75p plus the cooking cost which would have been around 4p. So at the very maximum it cost around £3 for the pizzas. Then half a bag of chips cost 40p and the salad around 75p. So under £5 to feed all three boys ! Great value considering they are all now taller than me !
It also means that we don't have to worry about the cost of MasterShoestring having friends over, as long as the eat with us and not out at a fast food place !!
