Be Thrifty
I have just finished reading the book ‘Be Thrifty…not Cheap”
and would thoroughly recommend it as an all-round guide to frugal living.
The authors have gone to experts in their field to ask for
advice rather than trying to give advice themselves and this allows for the
book to be packed with top-notch tips. It also means that there is a really,
useful list of further reading at the back.
I liked the fact that the book is well laid out and leaves
the section on money advice until the end so you can dive right in and start
saving money before being overwhelmed by all the suggestions.
There is a great section on how to build a capsule wardrobe,
what to look for so you need never pay a dry cleaning bill again and a great
section with illustrations on how to do the mending.
I have a shelf devoted to thrifty living books and this one
has gone straight on it, a definite keeper, especially as I got it second-hand
and paid for it using a gift card !
Have you got a favourite thrifty book ?
