Make Do and Mend

We have several of these chairs from IKEA but now they are getting on for 10 years old they are beginning to need a bit of attention.

MasterShoestring has one in his room as his desk chair and with all the swinging on the legs he has been doing the joints had become so loose that he was worried that they next time he was swinging he might fall off backwards ! (I know that he should not be swinging on the chair, but all that rhythmic activity seems to help with the studying !)

Rather than swap it for another chair he asked MrShoestring to fix it ! He had complete faith that he would have everything to do it at once and he did ! Wood glue, screws, clamps etc. all found in the workshop and the chair was fixed in 10 minutes. He then took MasterShoestring off for a haircut whilst the wood glue dried !

This is the third or fourth thing MrShoestring has mended this week, so I'm pretty happy !
