As part of my volunteer work I have just been offered a chance to enrol in a Mental Health Awareness course with the Skills Network for FREE ! This is a proper level 2 certificated course paid for by the government and there are others on offer which look equally as useful. It would normally cost over £300.
Apparently if you look under 'Distance Learning' at various further education websites you can find other similar courses. Mine is with Burton and South Derbyshire College and when I looked at their website:-

I found lots of free distance learning certificated course in social care as long as you are over 19 years old. Well worth looking in to if you want to try out a subject before paying money over for a course at a higher level !
