This new gingerbread recipe was very popular at yesterdays's Halloween tea !
1 cup treacle/syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
1/2 cup dairy free milk
2 cups self raising flour
1 tbsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
Mix the treacle, margarine and sugar together by beating with a wooden spoon in a large bowl. Add all the other ingredients and stir together until well-mixed. Place in a ready greased loaf tin and bake for 50 -60 minutes at 190C. Leave to cool before turning out.
MasterShoestring likes this cut into large slices with some margarine and/or jam but it is very nice with icing over the top too !
