Packing Food for a school trip

Master Shoestring is off to Lille on a day trip today. The school has organised a French trip to the Christmas market, so I hope he speaks lots of French to make it worthwhile. The trip was very reasonably priced and Master Shoestring is a reluctant French speaker so we thought that it would be a good investment.

One of the ways we are keeping the cost down and making sure he has something allergy friendly to eat is to make all the food he is going to need. So bacon buttes for breakfast, ham sandwiches for lunch and plenty of snacks. We even saved money on the water as he brought his own from home in reusable bottles. We know that he will also probably buy several trays of 'pommes frites' but that will be with his pocket money !
