MasterShoestring is very excited today as he is going up to Stoke to fetch his 'new to him' mountain bike. he has been going mountain biking with friends for a few weeks now and decided that his big brother's bike was getting too much of a pounding in the woods so a different one was required.
He did lots of research and determined that a second-hand one was much better value for money than a new one. he also tried Ebay and Gumtree for offers as well as specialised sites and the local shops.
In the end he made an offer on one which hadn't made its reserve price on Ebay. The only problem was we would have to drive up to Manchester to fetch it, which would have added a bit to the price. The seller very generously offered to meet us half way, so they will be meeting in Stoke.
MasterShoestring is just excited about getting a proper bike for his hobby, we are excited about the money lessons he has learned on the way !
